MRC On-Road Training (continued)

Our instructor comes to you!

Click on the map and see which ring you're in. The three rings (zones) represent 12.5, 25 & 50 miles from the MRC Fair Oaks Campus as the crow flies. Depending on where you and your bike are located will determine what we can do during the session and the tuition fee. Tuition fees will vary from $245 to $370 depending on your location and the course level.

On-Road Training

There are two MRC On-Road Training courses - Level 1 and Level 2:

Level 1 routes should require:

  • riding on typical neighborhood streets
  • starts, stops, turns (left & right) from a stop and turns while rolling.
  • searching for and finding potential threats.
  • speeds should suitable for the environment. Where appropriate, speeds up to 25 mph should be achieved.

Level 2 routes should include level 1 and be planned to:

  • include both right and left turns from level 1 routes onto level 2 routes after stops and/or yields
  • lane choice
  • speed adjustments
  • commercial area entry/exit
  • refueling (when time permits)

Student qualifications include:

  • Class “M” or “M2” on your driver’s license.
  • Your own motorcycle and show:
    • Current registration
    • Current safety inspection
    • Proof of insurance
  • Attend/Pass an MRC Individual Novice or Basic Rider Course (BRC)
  • You must have taken and passed a BRC or equivalent within the past five years.
