Getting Your Virginia Motorcycle License

COVID 19 NOTICE: During the pandemic lockdown you must go online to VA DMV to make an appointment to conduct any business including adding the 'M2' classification to your VA driver's license. Available appointments are four or five months backlogged. You should set up your appointment before you take the Basic Rider Course (BRC).

Once you have graduated from our Basic RiderCourse you will be issued a Virginia DMV Certificate. If you currently hold a valid Virginia Driver's License this certificate serves as your Class "M2" endorsement for 30 days from your completion date. The certificate is valid for one year from your completion date as a waiver for the Virginia DMV written and riding skills motorcycle tests.

Once we issue your Virginia DMV Certificate, all you have to do is go to a DMV office with the certificate and your valid Virginia Driver's license and apply for a new license with your Class "M2" endorsement. You'll receive the license in the mail in three to five business days.

In Other States (except Maryland)

Virginia has agreements with many other states to accept the Virginia DMV Certificate as proof of course completion and the Class "M2" endorsement. You will have to check directly with the DMV in your state.

Some states require a letter certifying your successful completion from the school. Just let us know and we will be happy to provide you with such a letter.
